The Q starts at 96th Street on the Second Avenue Subway, which opened on the Upper East Side in 2017. It runs through the 63rd Street tunnel, express along the BMT Broadway Line through Midtown, across the Manhattan Bridge and down Brooklyn's Brighton Line to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. On the Brighton Line it is the local, stopping at every station that the B runs past.
