Line 8 is the pink line. It opened in stages, from Jamsil to Moran in November 1996 and to Amsa in July 1999. Until 2024 it was the shortest heavy-rail line in the Seoul subway. The Byeollae Line extension, from Amsa to Byeollae, opened on August 10, 2024 and carried it north into Namyangju in Gyeonggi-do. HelloSubway types it from Byeollae to Moran, 24 stations.
The route
From Byeollae the line runs Dasan, Donggureung, Guri, Jangja Lake Park, Amsa History Park and Amsa, then crosses into Seoul at Cheonho, Gangdong-gu Office, Mongchontoseong, Jamsil, Seokchon, Songpa, Garak Market, Munjeong and Jangji. The southern end is in Seongnam: Bokjeong, Namwirye, Sanseong, Namhansanseong Ipgu, Dandaeogeori, Sinheung, Sujin and Moran.
