Gangnam Station is on Line 2, station 222, and on the Sinbundang Line. It sits under Gangnam-daero, the wide avenue that runs north toward Sinnonhyeon and Sinsa, and it is one of the busiest stations in Seoul.
Gangnam Square: between exits 11 and 12
Gangnam-gu's tourism site places Gangnam Square at 396 Gangnam-daero, between exits 11 and 12. The space has a large K-pop media wall and a stage for performances.
G-LIGHT: north along Gangnam-daero
From the square, 18 media poles called G-LIGHT line Gangnam-daero for about 760 metres toward Sinnonhyeon Station, showing media art as well as advertising. Walking that stretch is a straightforward way to see the avenue at night.

Typing it
강남 is six keystrokes in Hangul, and Gangnam is spelled just as it sounds. Line 2 continues to Seoul National University of Education, and the Sinbundang Line runs north to Sinsa.
Exit numbers and distances here are the ones published by Seoul's official tourism sites. Stations get rebuilt and exits are sometimes closed for works, so check the signs in the station as well.
